Noggin Football Squid Adventure Review

Big heads, tiny bodies, and a ball that bounces like it's made of rubber cement — that's basically the whole pitch here, and somehow it works. This one runs on that lovable big-head-soccer formula but wraps it in a squishy, squid-flavored coat of paint, built in Unity3D and playable straight through a browser via HTML5 or WebGL, no downloads needed. It runs fine on Android too, so a quick match on a phone during a break is completely doable. The core loop is simple: pick your side, boot the ball around a lopsided little arena, and try to headbutt your way to a goal before your rival does the same to you.

Controller & Keyboard Guide

  • Use the left and right arrow keys to shuffle your player across the pitch.
  • Hit spacebar to jump, kick, or time a header depending on the ball's position.
  • On mobile, tap the on-screen buttons that replace the keyboard controls automatically.
  • Timing matters more than speed — a well-placed jump beats frantic side-to-side mashing.
  • Hold direction slightly before contact to angle your shots instead of just blasting straight ahead.

Top Tips

  • Start in Friendly mode before touching Survival — it's the low-pressure place to feel out how floaty the physics actually are.
  • Watch your opponent's head arc closely; these matches get decided by who mistimes a jump first, not who's faster.
  • Don't crowd the ball near your own goal line, since a bad bounce there is basically a free goal for them.
  • Work through the ten stages gradually instead of rushing — later squads hit noticeably harder and punish sloppy positioning.
  • Upgrade your player's abilities between matches whenever the option pops up; even small talent boosts change how fights for the ball play out.
  • Stay patient during cup runs against tougher lineups of 7, 11, or 15 rival teams — one reckless header can undo a whole lead.
